JOHOR BARU: A man was killed on the spot while a woman suffered minor injuries after they were involved in an accident at Taman Desa Cemerlang, Ulu Tiram near here.

       Johor Jaya Fire and Rescue station chief Saifulbahri Safar said they received an emergency call at 4.06am on Friday (March 4).

       “Eleven firemen with one Fire Rescue Tender vehicle and an Emergency Medical Response Services vehicle were deployed to the scene," he said in a statement.

       The operation was led by senior officer II Mohd Shafie Mohd Don.

       He said the accident involved two cars, one driven by the 47-year old man and the other by the woman, 27.

       “The male victim was pinned in the driver’s seat and pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene," Saifulbahri said.

       The man's body was handed over to police for further action, he added.
