BORIS Johnson backed The Sun when he bought a poppy in Downing Street yesterday — and urged Brits to follow his lead.
It was handed to him by 84-year-old Army veteran Sgt Tom Dempsey.

Tom, of Redhill, Surrey, is one of 40,000 Royal British Legion collectors who have returned to streets after the pandemic.
Covid cost the charity — which helps servicemen and women and their families — £20million in lost donations last year.
We’ve asked our readers to again help.
Outside No 10, the PM said: “This year, as we mark the centenary of the Royal British Legion, I encourage you all to buy a poppy to help raise vital funds.
“The poppy is an enduring symbol to honour the memory of those who have fought for our freedom and country, and continue to do so.
“That’s why I’m backing The Sun’s campaign.”
