JOHOR BARU: A car accident along the Senai-Desaru Expressway here left one dead and two, including a three-month-old baby girl, injured.

       Johor Jaya Fire and Rescue Department operations commander M. Haridass said the incident took place along KM19.2 of the expressway on Tuesday (Aug 17).

       Nine firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a call at around 2.25pm.

       “We believe that the vehicle was heading towards Bandar Penawar, Kota Tinggi, when it rammed into a road divider.

       “The 58-year-old driver and the baby suffered from minor injuries while the third person, a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said, adding that the body was handed over to the police for further action.

       He added that the injured victims were sent to Hospital Sultan Ismail for treatment.

       The relationship between the victims was not immediately known.
