KUANTAN: Her love for all types of buns and bread is what prompted Nazidah Ali to start baking her own at home for family and friends.
The positive feedback then prompted her to open a small shop, aptly named Roti Gebhoo, here.
Nazidah, 38, said that under the brand, she made various types of bread and buns including the small, tasty and delectable buns that look like the famed roti paung.
They are available in original flavour, sugar, cheese as well as chocolate and sold between RM6 and RM9 per pack.
Affectionally known as Kak Gee, she added that her homemade buns could be served hot straight out of the oven via drive-through from 11.30am to 3pm.
“The bun which is still warm will be slathered with butter before being sprinkled with sugar and grated with toppings of cheese or chocolate.
“Apart from the drive-through, we also provide delivery services to customers around Kuantan with fees set according to their locations. There are also days when we promote free delivery.
“Usually, the bread will be sold out around 3pm. Customers tell me that the buns remain soft and fluffy even after three days,” she told Bernama here yesterday.
Currently, she produces 150 packets of buns with a sales value of more than RM800 a day. Customers can buy the tasty buns daily except on Sundays.
The preparation process starts around 8am with the mixing of ingredients such as flour, yeast, eggs and margarine.
“I will mix them using a machine to produce dough then proceed manually to shape the buns to ensure they turn out nicely. I have the help of two workers,” said Nazidah, who lives in Cenderawasih, Kuantan.
She recalls producing buns and bread after getting requests from family and friends who saw the pictures on her Facebook page.
As her business began getting more attention from the local community, she decided to quit her job to open her shop in the Bintang Lama Supermarket building in Jalan Bukit Ub, at the end of 2018.
