IPOH: The police are on the manhunt for two individuals believed to be involved in an armed robbery at a sundry shop in Menglembu.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the two men, armed with machetes, were believed to have committed the offence at about 6pm on Tuesday (Feb 22).
Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the incident was recorded by a close-circuit television (CCTV) camera, with the video clips being circulated on social media.
"The two men had forced the workers in the shop to hand over their personal belonging and also cleaning the cashier machine before fleeing.
"The duration of the entire incident was about one minute," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The estimated loss is believed to be about RM1,600," he added.
Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the Ipoh district police has received a report on the incident and it will be investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed group robbery.
