Dominic Cummings made the revelations on the Dwarkesh Patel podcast (Image: YouTube/Dwarkesh Patel)
Boris Johnson's former chief advisor, Dominic Cummings, has launched another savage attack on the former prime minister and made an astounding claim.
Cummings' comments came during an appearance on the Dwarkesh Patel podcast where he was asked why Johnson's Government "wasted" their 80-seat majority.
He replied by saying he felt Johnson "didn't care" about the country and was only in his role as PM to "make friends" and "have a nice time".
Cummings said: "Boris was prepared to be very aggressive and revolutionary in 2019, fundamentally because he thought it was necessary to survive as prime minister, not for the country, which he didn't care about, but for himself.

He said his view was that once his side had won the election they had to do all the things that had been promised and needed to realise that this could take decades.
But Cummings said: "[Johnson's] view was that just sounds like a lot of hard work and a lot of making enemies and it doesn't really seem necessary because Labour Party is a joke. I just want to be friends with London, I want to be friends with insiders and I want to have a nice time.
"The overwhelming majority of people in politics are there to prioritise social relations within the insider network that is what totally dominates their life.
"For them, the theatre and appearing on TV is the critical part of it, it's not have you actually done anything?"
Cummings then claimed Johnson's foreign secretaries were "completely irrelevant" during Brexit negotiations saying they were handled by private secretaries.

He added: "If you look at Brexit, the foreign secretary was almost completely irrelevant in all of the Brexit negotiations.
"The prime minister's private secretary, a very very able character, much more than anyone in the current cabinet and totally unknown in the media, but far more important was actually handling negotiations.

"The joke among the vote leave team used to be if you swap the private secs for the cabinet in every single job you would have a better calibre of person, however lots of those people have now left."
It is not the first time the former aide has attacked Johnson, with Cummings once describing him as "unfit for the job" of prime minister during the pandemic.
