TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan's new Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Friday he raised the issues of the Senkaku Islands, Hong Kong and the Xinjiang region in his first teleconference with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The leaders agreed to work toward "constructive and stable Japan-China relations" as next year is the 50th anniversary of the normalization of bilateral ties, Kishida also told reporters following their 30-minute call.
