Beth, a Jack Russell Terrier, won the heart of The Duchess following a visit to Battersea Dogs and Cats centre to mark the 150th anniversary of the charity back in 2010. A genuine dog lover, the unwanted young pup has lived with Camilla since 2011. Camilla is also a patron for the South London animal rescue centre.
Both pooch and owner returned to Battersea for a second visit in 2012, alongside her second rescue dog Bluebell who was found in a London park with a painful skin condition.
With her story touching several pet lovers across the nation, Beth is now in the running to be named Celebrity Dog of the Year in celebration of National Dog Day on August 26.
Home and business solutions specialist BiGDUG, are running the canine competition, where you can cast your vote for your favourite hound until August 13.
Eleven British celebrities and their furry friends, including actor Tom Hardy and singer Lewis Calpdi, are hoping to be crowned this year's winner in a public vote.
Polly?Maclennan,?public relations manager,?at?BiGDUG said: “We thought it was time the limelight is shared by giving these pups the chance to win their very own award.
“Especially with the year we’ve had, we know dogs and other pets across the nation have played a huge part in putting smiles on our faces, and they deserved to be recognised.
“This National Dug Day, we’re looking forward to crowning Celebrity Dog of The Year as voted by the public – because who doesn’t love looking at photos of cute dogs!”

Adding another Pomeranian in the running, Bear Archimedes Locke, is owned by Made in Chelsea star Ollie.
The TV personality said that Bear could potentially make an appearance in the upcoming 21st series later this year.
Bert - David Walliams
Another Border Terriers to add to the mix – writer and Britain's Got Talent judge David affectionately calls Bert his 'boy'. David proved his love for dogs back in 2011 when he saved a pup from drowning in the River Thames during his charity swim for Sport Relief.

It's not just the actors and singers dogs making the list, canines owned by the Royal family may have another title to add in their ranks.

Respresenting the French Bulldog breed, Blue is just as good-looking as his owner and London-born actor. Tom is the humner one heart throb for many Brits, but maybe his pooch may just have the edge.
Frank - Lewis Capaldi
The Scottish singer's pup is quite Frank-ly very cute. With an owner like Lewis, Frank probalby has quite the personality that will have leave dog lovers howling with laughter.
Ginger - Marvin Humes
According to singer TV presenter Marvin, Ginger is better at football than him, and the Cockapoo is also very photogenic as when not having a kickabout.
Lola - Olivia Attwood
Love Island contestant Olivia and her fiancé Bradley Dack have adopted their new rescue pup named Lola. After a rough start in life, the young pup has now settled in with her dog parents.
Olivia has just become an ambassador for The Pack Project UK, a charity set up to help rehome Romanian stray dogs.
