PETALING JAYA: Dagang Nexchange Bhd’s (DNeX) subsidiary, Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd, has introduced a new manufacturing technology for microelectromechanical systems and Photonics devices based on Cavity Silicon-On-Insulator (C-SOI) wafers.

       The C-SOI wafers are produced and customised by Okmetic, a high value-added silicon wafer supplier based in Finland.

       DNeX group MD and Silterra executive chairman Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said C-SOI substrates had embedded large cavity dimensions with improved yields. — Bernama
