Richard Tice is "thinking of making a complaint to Ofcom" in a stinging swipe at Channel 4.

The broadcaster revealed that Rory Stewart, Cathy Newman, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Emily Maitlis, Alastair Campbell, and Clare Balding, would be fronting the channel's coverage of the General Election - a move the Reform UK leader says is biased and a "huge breach".

Tice said the line up all share a similar political outlook including being anti-Brexit and liberal.

He told Express.co.uk: "This is clearly a huge breach and cannot be allowed to stand.

The broadcaster claims its panel is "eclectic" and features "heavyweight commentators", despite also noting that viewers should expect some input from "familiar faces" from its hit show Gogglebox.

Following the annoucement of the channel's election line-up, former BBC presenter Emily Maitlis, who once suggested that the media's coverage of Brexit was a "conspiracy against the British people", said: "Delighted to be bringing The News Agents to the heart of Channel 4 on this important night - and to work with such an incredible cast of people. I cannot wait."

Rory Stewart, himself an ardent Remainer, said of his involvement in the channel's election coverage: “I’m really looking forward to bringing the podcast to life on TV with Alastair live on Channel 4. Hopefully we can still disagree agreeably even in the heat of the electoral madness.”

Meanwhile, Alastair Campbell added: “The success and continuing growth of The Rest Is Politics podcast has shown there is a huge appetite for serious sensible debate and on what promises to be one of the most important and exciting election nights in many a year I am delighted that Rory Stewart and I will be part of Channel 4’s coverage.”

Channel 4 has been approached for comment.
