KUCHING: A live streaming of the state-level launch of the National Day month and Fly Jalur Gemilang in Sarawak, scheduled here at 10am on Aug 16, will be held to enable the ceremony to be witnessed by the people of Sarawak.
Chairman of the main committee, Suwadi Guliling, said the launch, to be held at the State Legislative Assembly building, would be held under strict compliance with standard operating procedure and with limited attendance.
“We have sought the advice of the Health Ministry, National Security Council and Sarawak Disaster Management Committee. They reminded us to ensure strict compliance with the SOP,” he said yesterday.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will launch the event, which will be broadcast live on the Facebook pages of the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) and Sarawak Information Department (Japen) and the department’s TikTok account.
“The content for the event is also limited with only the address by the Chief Minister, screening of a patriotic video and flagging off of the Jalur Gemilang convoy,” he said.
The convoy will involve only 10 government departments and agencies comprising the police, Japen, State Secretary’s Office, Sarawak Federal Secretary’s Office, RTM, Pos Malaysia, Telekom Malaysia, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, Bernama and National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
Meanwhile, Suwadi, who is also Sarawak Japen director, said the department would organise a “selfie wefie” competition through its official Facebook page and TikTok Merdeka on the TikTok Khabar dari Sarawak Japen account in conjunction with the state-level National Month. — Bernama
