PETALING JAYA: Educational institutions in Johor and Terengganu will resume operations in stages from Nov 7, says the Education Ministry.

       The ministry said that as the states were transitioning into Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) from Monday (Oct 25), the operation of educational institutions under the ministry would be implemented after two weeks from the date of the transition.

       "However, public schools in those states will only start their operations on Nov 8 (Monday) as Nov 7 is an additional holiday allocated in the ministry's calendar in conjunction with the Deepavali festival,” the ministry said on Sunday (Oct 24).

       The ministry said this involves admission for Level One (standard one, two and three) of primary school students as well as Form Three and Form Four of secondary school students.

       “Lessons for Level Two (standard four, five and six) of primary school students, including transition classes, Form One and Two of secondary schools will begin on Nov 14 in accordance with the NRP regulations.

       “However, private educational institutions registered under the ministry would operate according to their respective calendars,” the ministry added.
