KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government, through the State Tourism Department, has been participating, since Sunday, in the ongoing Dubai Expo 2020 being held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
State tourism, culture and digital technology committee chairman Ariffin Deraman said it was part of efforts to promote Terengganu’s tourism and penetrate markets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East.
He said the expo was the best platform for Terengganu to introduce the uniqueness of the state and its products.
“This is Terengganu’s first involvement in an international expo and we sincerely hope that it can open up opportunities and attract the outside community to the uniqueness of Terengganu’s ecotourism,” he said.
Besides promoting Terengganu tourism products such as Tasik Kenyir, Setiu Wetlands, and its islands and beaches, Ariffin said it was also to identify investment opportunities in the tourism sector, through programmes coordinated with the media in the UAE and engagement sessions. — Bernama
