KULAI: Perikatan Nasional will have a well-balanced mix of young and experienced candidates for the upcoming Johor polls, says its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
This comes as Perikatan is expected to reveal all 56 of its candidates on Thursday (Feb 24) at a hotel in Johor Baru.
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president added that seat allocation among their Perikatan allies, PAS and Gerakan, was complete.
“We will have a good mix of young and experienced individuals including women as Perikatan candidates in the Johor election.
“Many of our candidates have a professional background such as law and medicine," he told the press after a gathering with Felda Taib Andak settlers here on Wednesday (Feb 23).
Muhyiddin, who is not defending his Gambir seat in the state election, added that fielding professionals showed Perikatan's readiness to form the government in Johor.
The Election Commission (EC) has set polling day on March 12 with nominations on Feb 26 and early voting on March 8.
