PUTRAJAYA: A crucial meeting involving Perikatan Nasional component party leaders chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is currently taking place at the Prime Minister's Office in Perdana Putra.
Among the first who arrived at Perdana Putra was Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan at 3.40pm, followed by Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin at 3.47pm, according to Bernama.
Hamzah was initially scheduled to give a press conference on the MM2H programme earlier on Wednesday (Aug 11) afternoon, but he was represented by Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was also spotted entering Perdana Putra shortly after, followed by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong at 4.53pm.
There were dozens of journalists who staked out near Perdana Putra, as developments of the meeting were being closely monitored.
While sources have said that the agenda of the meeting would be on Perikatan's majority, other sources are indicating that it could also discuss the potential of expediting the Parliament session so a confidence motion can be tabled earlier.
Developments on the meeting led by Muhyiddin are being closely monitored, as observers have hinted that the future of the Perikatan government may depend on the outcome of the meeting.
