SHAH ALAM: Perikatan Nasional, which comprises Bersatu, PAS and Gerakan, will contest all 28 seats in the Melaka state election.
The coalition chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said the Perikatan supreme council agreed on the distribution of seats and the list of candidates following a meeting on Friday.
He announced the list of candidates at a hotel in Shah Alam yesterday.
Also present at the announcement were leaders from Perikatan component parties, namely Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau, Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Bersatu Srikandi chief Datuk Seri Rina Harun, PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and PAS Central election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Sabah STAR are also Perikatan component parties.
Perikatan’s PAS candidates are Aziah Mohd Sa’ad Dari Parti (Kuala Linggi), Abu Hashim Abdul Samad (Taboh Naning), Ja’afar Othman (Durian Tunggal), Tuan Haji Bakri Jamaluddin (Kelebang), Muhammad Al Afiz Yahya (Bukit Katil), Datuk Kamarudin Sedik (Duyong), Ahmad Bilal Rahaudin (Serkam) and Abd Alim Shapie (Merlimau)
Bersatu’s candidates are Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (Tanjung Bidara), Dr Nordina Abd Latif (Ayer Limau), Mejar (B) Abdullah Mahadi (Lendu), Zamzuri Arifin (Rembia), Mohd Amir Fitri Muharam (Gadek), Tai Siong Jiul (Machap Jaya), Dr Mohd Aleef Yusof (Sungai Udang), Mohamad Ridzwan Mustafa (Pantai Kundur), Muhammad Faris Izwan Mazlan (Paya Rumput), Mohd Azrudin Md Idris (Pengkalan Batu), Mohd Fadly Samin (Ayer Molek), Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen (Teluk Emas), Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub (Bemban), Azalina Abdul Rahman (Rim) and Muhammad Jefri Safry (Sungai Rambai).
Gerakan’s candidates are Dhanesh Basil (Asahan), Datuk Seri Michael Gan Peng Lam (Ayer Keroh), Patrick Ng Chin Kae (Kedisang), Fong Khai Ling (Kota Laksamana) and Clarice Chan Ming Wang (Bandar Hilir).
