D.C. police have identified a woman who was shot and killed Friday night in Southeast Washington.
Tennelle Smith, 43, of Northeast Washington, was fatally shot in the 2300 block of Ainger Place SE, in the Woodland Terrace neighborhood, police said.

Police officers were near the area around 9:35 p.m. when they heard gunshots. Officers found Smith inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
