A man was fatally shot Monday night in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Northwest Washington, according to D.C. police.

       The shooting occurred about 8:50 p.m. in the 1300 block of Columbia Road NW, between 13th and 14th streets.

       Police said the victim was found wounded inside a vehicle and died at a hospital. He was identified as Jerrame Watts, 33, who police said had no fixed address.

       The shooting was the District’s third homicide of this year. Homicides in 2021 surpassed 200 for the first time since 2003.
