KUALA LUMPUR: Hextar Global Bhd, Pertama Digital Bhd, Seni Jaya Corp Bhd, Hong Seng Consolidated Bhd and British American Tobacco are among the stocks to watch, according to JF Apex Research.

       Hextar Global is buying a 49% stake in ENRA Kimia for RM24.5mil cash. ENRA Kimia, is one of the largest distributors of specialty chemicals and catalyst for the oil and gas industry in Malaysia.

       Pertama Digital is raising its stake in govtech software company, Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd, by exercising its contractual option to buy an additional 24% equity in the software company.

       Seni Jaya, which recently proposed a private share placement, has announced a proposal to undertake the bonus issue of warrants on the basis of one bonus warrant for every two existing ordinary shares.

       Hong Seng announced it is also venturing into distributing Covid-19 antibody testing kits after the news of its 51%-owned unit securing an RM112mil one-year contract to supply Covid-19 test kits to the Ministry of Health.

       British American Tobacco's 2QFY21 net profit rose 31.14% year-on-year, driven by domestic volume growth.

       JF Apex said after the selldown in March 2020, the FBM KLCI hit the lowest since May 2010 but staged a sharp rebound to almost 1,700 points in December.

       Since January, the index has been trending sideways but last month’s decline broke the support of 1,550 points.

       “Following this month’s selldown, the benchmark index could extend its rebound after bouncing off the support of 1,500 points recently,” JF Apex said.
