TWENTY per cent of civil servants are still under the working from home arrangement, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Although productivity rates were better when working at the office, he noted certain tasks, such as research, case study and drafting of documents could be done from home.
“We allowed the working from home arrangement during the movement control order period whereby a large number of government offices were closed and the ratio of those working from office and those working from home was 60% and 40% respectively.
“After the movement control order ended, we still currently have 20% working from home.
“However, critical sectors and departments such as healthcare services must be done from the workplace,” Ismail Sabri told the Dewan Rakyat during question time in Parliament yesterday.
Earlier, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) asked about the work from home policy for civil servants, noting it would be very helpful especially for working mothers owing to the lack of maids currently.
