SEREMBAN: Some 6,600 state civil servants will receive a special payment of RM500 in conjunction with Hari Raya, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

       The payment, he said, would be made tomorrow.

       On Monday, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said federal civil servants would get RM500 as special financial assistance in view of the Hari Raya celebration.

       The Prime Minister said those eligible for the special aid are civil servants of Grade 56 and below.

       As for government retirees, and veterans in both the pensionable and non-pensionable categories, Anwar said they would be given RM250.

       Several other state governments, including Selangor, Pahang an Johor, have also agreed to give out a special payment to their civil servants.
