PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has shut off electricity supply to substations serving 40 areas around the Klang Valley on Monday (March 7) evening due to the heavy rain and flash floods.
TNB said this was done to ensure the safety of consumers in the affected areas.
In its Facebook page, it listed the 40 affected locations around Kuala Lumpur as:

4. Bukit Aman Police Headquarters
5. Hospital Tang Lin
6. Jalan Tanglin Car Park
7. Jabatan Kesihatan Daerah WP Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya

10. Selangor Planning Office
11. Banyan Tree Signature Jalan Conlay

13. The Royale Chulan Hotel

"Efforts are being made to ensure power supply in the affected areas can be channelled in stages, according to accessibility and the situation," it said.
TNB also noted that if the flood situation worsens, substations in other affected areas will be shut down as well.
It added that the public should be wary of the risks posed by the heavy rain and floods, and to ensure important documents are kept in a safe place.
The heavy downpour which started at about 3pm caused flash floods in several locations around the Klang Valley.
