KOTA KINABALU: A dozen over doctors from two hospitals in the city here showed their solidarity in support of the "Hartal Doktor Kontrak" in peaceful walks outside their respective hospitals.
About 12 to 15 doctors at the Sabah Women and Children's Hospital Likas and two from the main Queen Elizabeth Hospital here took a peaceful walk to push to support fairness for contract doctors.
"It was a peaceful walk of solidarity among contract doctors at the Sabah Women and Children's Hospital Likas.
"There were no untoward incidents," the hospital director Dr Marcus Netto said Monday.
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 (QEH1) two doctors walked out at 12.58pm that marked a relatively low profile protest in Sabah.
The duo, one holding a placard "We are your future specialist" and "#H-kontrak" walked out of the hospital building towards the carpark amid a presence of police personnel and police cars outside the main entrance of the hospital.
The two doctors thanked reporters for their support and confirmed that they were medical officers.
Reports coming in from other hospitals across the state also indicated that there were no walkouts.
It was quiet in Tawau, Sandakan and also at Queen Elizabeth Hospital 2 in Damai here.
The presence of police and Rela personnel at QEH1 drew many curious onlookers.
The protestors later returned to their duties after their demonstration.
