The Covid pandemic is essentially over for England, as the Prime Minister has now ceased Covid restrictions. The July 19 "Freedom Day" came after months of Conservative pushback, with the liberal side of the party decrying clampdowns on personal freedoms. But it hasn't paid off for Mr Johnson, whose ratings amongst Conservative members has recently plummeted.

Following the 2019 election, Boris Johnson was one of the most popular Conservatives in decades.

He remained highly popular with his party during the pandemic, despite accusations he "botched" the national response.

At present, however, he is among the top ten least popular Conservative figures among party members.

A poll commissioned by Conservative Home found Mr Johnson's popularity has caved recently.

In its "Cabinet League Table", the publication found a just 3.4 percent net satisfaction rate amongst members.

His ratings dropped by 36 percent compared to the last poll, putting the Prime Minister amongst the top five least popular Conservatives.

Only three other MPs have a rating lower than his.

Housing minister Robert Jenrick is one place below him on 1.3 percent, and Amanda Milling below him.

The Conservative party chairwoman is sitting on net disapproval of -14.3 percent.

And below her, the least positive Conservative member is education secretary Gavin Williamson.

His net disapproval rating currently sits at -44.1 percent.

On the other end of the scale, the most popular Conservatives are approaching 100 percent party approval.

Their ratings have reached more than 20 times more than the Prime Minister who appointed them.

The top ten most approved include several politicians at the forefront of many Covid briefings.

And they show the sustained influence of Thatcherism amongst the Conservative population.

The top ten most popular Conservative Cabinet members include:

While Conservative members seem to have put all their energy behind Liz Truss, activists have a different view.

A poll conducted by the Daily Mail has Rishi Sunak in the top spot amongst Tory activists.

A total of 31.07 percent of people, nearly a third of activists, want the Chancellor in the top spot after Mr Johnson leaves.

Ms Truss is further behind with support from just 12.08 percent.
