Police have confirmed that six people have died after a shooting in the Keyham area of Plymouth yesterday evening, shortly after 6pm. A girl under ten years old is amongst the victims. Two females and two males were found dead at the scene, as well as another male believed to be the gunman. Another female was found with serious gunshot injuries died a short time later in hospital.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it was not a terrorism related incident, and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
An eyewitness told the BBC: "Firstly, there was shouting, followed by gunshots - three possibly four to begin with.
"This was when the shooter kicked in the door of a house and randomly started shooting.
"He ran from the house shooting as he ran and proceeded to shoot at a few people in the linear park up from the drive.
"The shooter proceeded along Royal Navy Avenue still shooting."
Another witness, Robert Pinkerton, told the BBC he "walked around the corner" and "bumped into a bloke with a shotgun".
He said the man was dressed all in black.
MP for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport, Luke Pollard has tweeted saying he was "utterly devastated" by the crime.
He added: "More people are being treated for their injuries in hospital.
"Just so unspeakably awful.
"My condolences and thoughts are with the families."

Crime officers in white suits can be seen taking photos of the crime scene and members of the public who live locally were not allowed to enter their homes.
Investigations are continuing into the incident and disruption to the road network in the Keyham will remain for some time.
