‘Funny and polite’ five-year-old at centre of murder probe named as Logan Williamson

       Rhiannon Hales paid tribute to the youngster whose body was tragically found in the Ogmore River in Bridgend in the early hours of Saturday morning. Last night South Wales Police confirmed that three people, including a 13-year-old boy, had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

       Paying tribute to little Logan, Ms Hales shared pictures of him and described him as “my little boy” on Facebook.

       She added: “He was a beautiful boy.

       “He was kind, funny, polite, handsome & clever. He is loved unconditionally & has unfortunately lost his life.

       “He however, doesn’t deserve the stuff that is speculating around Facebook.

       “Please keep your statuses kind towards him & hearsay to yourself!

       “RIP. I will love you forever.”

       In another post she said: “I know he’s thanking everyone for their love towards him! Never forget his pleases & thank yous!”

       In a statement police said a 39-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and the teenage boy had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

       The force said it was "not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident".

       Logan’s body was discovered near Pandy Park following reports of concerns for a missing five-year-old in the Sarn area of Bridgend at 5:45am on Saturday.

       He was taken to Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend where it was confirmed he had died.

       "This is a tragic incident in which a young child has sadly lost their life," Ch Insp Geraint White said at the weekend.

       "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to get in touch.

       "We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation.

       "If you have any information that can help, please report this to us.

       "Our thoughts are with the family and we are supporting them in every way we can."

       Since the tragedy emerged, locals have been leaving teddy bears at the scene in tribute to the youngster.

       Bridgend resident Jodie Simmonds wrote: “On behalf of Angharad and family I ask the local community if you wish to pay your respects for the recent tragedy at Sarn Pandy Park river, to please place teddy’s at the lamppost and small foot bridge.

       “I ask that everyone please respect the privacy of the family at this horrendous time. R.I.P sweet angel.”
