BATU PAHAT: A 35-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a stopped vehicle at KM116.9 of the North-South Expressway, here.
Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the incident occurred at 3pm on Sunday (March 31) when the victim was heading towards Pagoh.
“The victim, identified as Mohammad Fared Zakaria, 35, was riding his motorcycle in the emergency lane from Ayer Hitam.
“However, upon arriving at the location, the victim crashed into a car that was parked in the emergency lane by the driver who was answering his phone,” he said in a statement here on Monday (April 1).

The impact caused the victim to suffer a serious injury to the head and break his arms; he was later pronounced dead while being treated at the Sultanah Fatimah Hospital in Muar at 7.50pm on the same day.
The driver was unharmed.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
