PUTRAJAYA: Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic) has been invited by Harvard University in the United States to attend the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Programme from June 12 to 15.

       The Health Ministry said in a statement on Friday (June 10) that participation in the programme was by special invitation and Khairy was one of 12 ministers from around the world chosen for this year's session.

       All those selected were holding portfolios related to health, education and human development, it added.

       The ministry said the programme emphasised aspects of leadership, focusing on interaction among participants through case study discussions and sharing of their respective experiences in human development and economic progress.

       "The invitation to the Health Minister to join the programme, which is organised each year, is a recognition of the country especially the Malaysian Health Ministry,” the statement read.

       The programme was also among the best platforms to learn from and analyse the experiences of other countries to use as reference points, while it also presented Malaysia with the opportunity to share its success and experience managing the Covid-19 pandemic, it added. – Bernama
