Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall has made a name for herself as a senior working member of the Royal Family since she married Prince Charles in 2005. The royal started her working experience at a top London design company in the 1960s but her stint as an assistant was very short-lived. The then-Camilla Shand managed to "anger" her boss so much she was quickly "given the sack", according to a former colleague.

       Ms Liwag-Dixon added: "In her book 'On the Fringe. A life in decorating,' Taylor repealed that, oddly enough, Parker Bowles was frowned upon by her then-boss and, after a night of dancing, angered him after arriving late for work."

       Ms Taylor recalled Camilla worked briefly for the company before she was asked to leave her post.

       She said: "She worked for us for a moment but got the sack."

       Royal biographer Penny Junor suggested the Duchess' penchant for partying at a young age played a crucial role in ending her career with the company.

       Ms Junor said: "She didn't last a week.

       One morning she overslept after a very long party and I think she was probably rather hangover.

       "And she arrived late, saying, 'I'm terribly sorry.' And the boss at Colefax and Fowler, who was a demon anyway, just absolutely tore her apart and sent her packing.

       "And that was the end of her working career."

       The now-Duchess moved from East Sussex to Swinging London in the middle of the 1960s.

       She met her first husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, during her stay in the capital and would go on to be introduced to the higher echelons of London society due to his connection with the Royal Family.

       At the time, she also met Prince Charles for the first time and briefly had a relationship with him before she went on to marry Parker Bowles in 1973.

       The couple divorced in 1995, and Camilla went on to marry the Prince of Wales in 2005, becoming the Duchess of Cornwall.
