JOHOR BARU: The Johor government hails the appointment of Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein in their new federal government posts.

       Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad (pic) said the appointments of Ismail Sabri as the Deputy Prime Minister and Hishammuddin as Senior Minister would help the government in dealing with the Covid-19 situation.

       “Both are Umno leaders and I am sure they will do well in their new roles.

       “I am confident that Ismail Sabri and Hishammuddin will play a greater role in the government’s effort to combat Covid-19 and improve the economic situation,” he added.

       In Alor Setar, Kedah Mentri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor lauded the new appointments of Ismail Sabri and Hishammuddin.

       “Hishammuddin’s appointment is significant as he heads the Security Cluster which will be assisting the Prime Minister in implementing the National Recovery Plan.

       “The promotion of both ministers will surely have a better impact on the government’s ability to increase its overall performance,” he said.

       In Kangar, Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man congratulated both Ismail Sabri and Hishammuddin, saying their experience would be an asset to the government.

       In Kota Kinabalu, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said Sabah fully supports the new appointments of Ismail Sabri and Hishammuddin.

       He said their appointments were apt as both have vast experience holding senior ministerial positions.

       Hajiji, who is Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman, said the appointments would strengthen the Perikatan Nasional government and at the same time allow the country to focus on battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
