In the power struggle within Maharashtra's Pawar family, Parth Pawar, the younger son of Ajit Pawar, is gaining attention and is speculated to rise in prominence ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections">Lok Sabha elections. Ajit Pawar, who recently joined the BJP government as the deputy chief minister, is believed to be considering giving the Shirur Lok Sabha ticket to his son Parth. Parth Pawar had previously made an unsuccessful electoral debut in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, where he lost from the Maval constituency.
Parth Pawar came into the limelight when he wrote a letter to the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, requesting a CBI inquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput's death, contrary to the stance of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government at that time, reported Hindustan Times.

The ongoing power struggle between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar has led to divisions within the NCP. Sharad Pawar addressed the national executive meeting of the party in Delhi and also met Rahul Gandhi">Rahul Gandhi, while Ajit Pawar claimed that the meeting was illegal and asserted himself as the party president. Sharad Pawar said his age does not matter as he is still effective be it 82 or 92, at the meeting. The Sharad Pawar faction will approach the Election Commission against the Ajit Pawar faction which already claimed the NCP symbol.
The future course of action for Ajit Pawar remains uncertain. He has made appointments, such as appointing Narendra Rane as Mumbai's working president of the NCP and Deepak Mankar as the Pune city unit, further fueling the factional divide.
Amidst the political developments, Uddhav Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the Maharashtra government for its uncertain functioning. “Another day gone and yet one doesn't know who is handling what ministry in the (unconstitutional) Maharashtra government. People be damned, self-interests should continue," Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted.
Former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray commented on the NCP split, accusing those involved of being against Maharashtra and attempting to break the state. "They are against Maharashtra. They broke Sena and now the NCP. They want to break Maharashtra," said Uddhav Thackeray.
Speculations regarding chief minister Eknath Shinde stepping down circulated and that he may face disqualification from the Assembly, defying these rumours Shinde said he is not resigning and everything else is rumours. "With our government now made up of three parties, the strength of our MLAs is more than 200. No leader is unhappy and all have faith in us. Our government is only getting stronger. We have the support of PM Modi and Amit Shah," said Shinde, reported Hindustan Times.

Speculations have also arisen about a possible alliance between estranged cousins Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, as MNS's Abhijit Panse recently met with Uddhav Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
