GEORGE TOWN: The Mak Mandin public market will be closed until July 22 or further notice due to a Covid-19 case.

       The Health Ministry has urged all who have been to the market to take a Covid-19 swab test if they have any symptoms.

       Earlier, the Pulau Mutiara wholesale market in Macallum Street Ghaut was closed until further notice after cases were detected among the traders.

       Since March last year, several public markets including those at Taman Free School, Batu Maung and Jelutong on the island and in Penaga, Bagan Ajam and Bukit Mertajam on the Penang mainland had been temporarily closed for disinfection after Covid-19 cases were detected.
