GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Port Commission (PPC) is offering a 50% discount to two-wheeled vehicles using the RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) ferries.

       PPC chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng, who announced this on Monday (Dec 27), said both motorcyclists and cyclists will be able to enjoy the discount from Jan 1 to June 30.

       "The fare now is RM2 for motorcyclists and RM1.20 for cyclists.

       "With the discount it will be RM1 and RM0.60 respectively," he told a press conference at the Sweetenham Pier Cruise Terminal.

       He said PPC will allocate RM58,333 a month or RM350,000 for the six-month period to absorb the discounts.
