GEORGE TOWN: The Penang MCA public service and complaints bureau will resume servicing the public face-to-face now that around 90% of the adult population in Penang is fully vaccinated, says Datuk Tan Teik Cheng (pic).
The Penang MCA chairman said due to the pandemic, the Penang MCA public service and complaints bureau had switched to online services since the beginning of this year.
“As the vaccination for the adult population here is about to reach 90% soon, the bureau will resume physical services once again.
“Following the announcement of reopening of more sectors by the government, we will gradually switch from online services back to physical services.
“As long as a member of the public has received two doses of their Covid-19 vaccine, they are welcome to visit the Penang MCA headquarters in Jalan Transfer. We will provide services on weekdays from 10am to 5pm. They can also contact us at 017-477 7603,” he said.
Tan reminded those who come to seek help, or make a complaint, to always wear a mask and follow all the standard operating procedures (SOP).
“The bureau will also set up a Facebook account to provide the public with another platform for services and complaints.
"In addition, the public is also welcome to directly communicate with us through our Facebook account.
"I believe this way people will be able to contact us faster. Penang MCA will always be here to try and solve various problems for the people,” he added.
Tan has appointed Penang MCA liaison committee spokesperson Ooi Teik Liang as the director of the Penang MCA public service bureau with Dr Lee Chai Guan and Francis Goh both as his deputy.
