He and the former Girls Aloud star, 38, were reunited at the Newcastle venue, jointly funded by their charities to help young people develop skills and confidence.

The heir thanked Cheryl - a celebrity ambassador for The Prince's Trust - for her "energy and enthusiasm" in helping to establish the centre. The singer turned X Factor judge officially opened it in 2018 after raising £1 million to help set it up. And she was delighted to be back in her home city yesterday.

She said: "It was incredibly inspiring to meet young people and hear how transformational the Prince's Trust support has been for them."

Cheryl and Charles handed certificates to candidates who have completed a 12-week project. One, Dan

Hannigan, 18, said: "I wouldn't have believed 12 weeks ago that I'd be confident enough to speak in front of the Prince of Wales and Cheryl."
