THE P. RAMU Foundation has published a collection of 122 Tamil poems by 62 local writers, Malaiyaga Thogai (Malaysian Collection), reported Malaysia Nanban.
Renowned local Tamil poet P. Ramu died before finishing Mannili-runthu Vinnukku – Oru Kavithai Nila (Earth to The Heavens – A Poetic Moon); it was completed by his peers and released in April 2021.
Human Resources Minister and MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, who attended the launch last year, announced the formation of the foundation to promote Mannilirunthu Vinnukku and other local poets’ works so that they would not be forgotten.
As part of the foundation’s mission to publish at least one book of local works every year, Malaiyaga Thogai will be released during a literary festival on Sunday at the Sentul Chettiar Hall in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur.
Poets, writers, Tamil language teachers and students are encouraged to attend and participate in the event.
It will also feature poetry-related events for youngsters and adults.
