A COUPLE have told how their Christmas Day was ruined after being made to wait an hour for a "soggy", "mushy" and "chewy" Toby Carvery dinner.
Ivann Lee Jones, 52, and his wife Dawn, 51, forked out £55 each for the festive meal in Willerby, Kingston-upon-Hull, on December 25.

The grandparents, from Clowne, Derbyshire, were due to celebrate with their grandkids afterwards and had been told to get there in plenty of time for their 4pm booking.
But despite arriving 15 minutes early, they were made to wait well over an hour for their food – some of which “hadn’t seen the inside of an oven”.
Ivann told The Sun Online: "In all honesty it was probably the worst Christmas dinner we’ve had since we’ve been married.
"I think we got there 15 to 20 minutes early.
“The young lady said they were running half an hour late and by the time our original four o'clock slot came it was another 35 minutes before we were sat at a table.”
The medical engineer said his paté starter - which he had to reorder despite pre-selecting his choice - was “mediocre” while he wouldn’t feed the greens alongside it “to a rabbit”.

And things only got worse from there.
Ivann said: "The Yorkshire puddings were soft and squidgy, almost like they were Aunt Bessie’s out of the freezer. They hadn’t seen the oven, they were soggy and tepid.
“I think the roast potatoes saw the oven door but that’s probably as close as they got - they weren’t even cooked.
“The vegetables - especially the carrots - were over cooked, to the point where they were just mushy. And the meat was chewy - it was like you were getting whatever was left behind.”
Ivann said by the time it came to pudding, he and Dawn were so late to pick up their grandkids they had to pile their measly cheeseboard and chocolate brownie in a doggy bag.
And they believe many other families may have been in similar situations as “lots” appeared to be waiting for their food.
After leaving a scathing review on Trip Advisor, Ivan said Toby Carvery offered them a £50 voucher to use at any of their restaurants.
But he and his wife have not yet decided whether they wish to go back.
A spokesperson for Toby Carvery said: “We strive to give all of our guests the best possible experience and we welcome any customer feedback.
"While we can’t comment on individual reviews, we would like to invite the customer in question to contact our guest care team so we can understand their concerns further.”
