PETALING JAYA: A shelter for HIV and tuberculosis (TB) patients in Puchong has been flooded.

       Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, when contacted, said that water levels rose to about a metre at the shelter in Kampung Tengah, following rain in the area.

       "A total of eight people were moved by the shelter workers to the top floor of the building. No evacuations to the PPS (relief centre) have been reported and we have advised the residents there to move to a safer location if water levels rise.

       "We have also mobilised a rescue boat to the location of any evacuations are required. The rain subsided at around 6.30pm," he said.
