A children's hospital worker who has been missing for two weeks was last seen on a bus home, police have said.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a children’s hospital worker who vanished from South London two weeks ago.

Petra Srncova, 32, was reported missing on December 3 by a concerned colleague at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She is believed to have left the hospital, where she worked as a senior nursing assistant, at 7.45pm on November 28, heading towards her home address in Camberwell.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Ms Srncova is thought to have been wearing a green coat and carrying a red backpack at the time. It is believed she withdrew money from a cashpoint, before getting onto a bus towards Elephant and Castle and then changing to a new bus towards Camberwell, where she was last sighted at 8.22pm.

Police have contacted Ms Srncova’s family in the Czech Republic but they have not heard from her. Officers are now asking anyone with information as to her whereabouts to make contact immediately.

Camberwell and Peckham MP, Harriet Harman, has also appealed to the public for help in locating the missing NHS worker. She distributed posters near Ms Srncova’s home on Saturday and held a press call, where she said: “I feel we’ve all got a particular responsibility to try and help find her because she was away from her home country in the Czech Republic, away from her family, here working in our National Health Service.

“So, we’re just calling out to any of her friends, anybody who’s seen her - get in touch with the police, whatever information you have.”

A man has been arrested in connection with Ms Srncova’s disappearance and taken into custody, however the police are not releasing any further details of this arrest at present.

Detective Superintendent Clair Kelland, from the Central South Command Unit, said: “Her disappearance is out of character and, of course, her loved ones are extremely concerned and want to know where she is.

“Please think about if you’ve seen her, or maybe come into contact with her. If you have any information whatsoever, please get in touch and help us with our enquiries."
