PETALING JAYA: SCOMI GROUP BHD has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Skill Johor Sdn Bhd (SJSB) to develop a renewable energy (RE) generation programme at the latter’s technical and vocational education and training Campus in Johor.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Scomi said its joint venture company, Scomi SGSB Sdn Bhd, had executed the MoU with SJSB.
“Scomi SGSB has conducted several site visits and technical assessments and has determined that a solar photovoltaic system provides the best solution to generate RE while mitigating the rising energy cost of the campus over a period of 21 years.
“The campus has the potential capacity to accommodate up to four megawatt peaks. Scomi SGSB has submitted a commercial proposal based on a zero capital expenditure model to SJSB,” it said.
Scomi said the collaboration will be for a period of twenty-four months, subject to any extended period to be mutually agreed in writing by the parties.
“The parties shall execute a formal agreement for the execution of the project sixty days before the opening of the campus,” said Scomi.
