KAGOSHIMA -- An autographed jersey worn by MLB player Shohei Ohtani that fetched an All-Star Game charity auction record-high of $130,210 (about 14.68 million yen) is on display in this southwest Japan city until Oct. 31.
The Los Angeles Angels player's signed jersey has been free to view at the Maruya Gardens shopping mall in the city of Kagoshima since Oct. 11.
The jersey was specially designed for the July All-Star Game. The Kagoshima resident who made the winning bid proposed displaying it, saying, "I hope it will revitalize the city, which has been in a slump from the coronavirus."
