Two minor siblings die mysteriously, third hospitalised in Taunsa

       DERA GHAZI KHAN: Two minor brothers died mysteriously in Taunsa Sharif Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ), while their third sibling isunder treatment at Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

       According to sources, three minor sons of Khawaja Ghiyasuddin suddenly fell ill and were rushed to Taunsa THQ, where one-year-old Umar passed away during treatment. Ghulam Muhammad (2) and Moeenuddin (4) were referred to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, in critical condition.

       Upon arrival at Nishtar Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad also died, while the eldest child, Moeenuddin, is now said to be stable. On receiving information,newly posted DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Tariq Wilayat visited the family’s home in Taunsa, offered condolences, and gathered details about the incident.

       He instructed the crime scene unit to collect all evidence from the home of the deceased children to ascertain their cause of death.

       The DPO also visited the doctors at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, who initially treated the children, to obtain information about their medical condition and said that the incident would be investigated from all angles.

       FACTORY RAIDED: A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team raided a biscuit factory in Muzaffargarh district, exposing the use of expired ingredients in manufacturing different products.

       The raid led by PFA Director Operations (South) Shehzad Khan Magsi, was conducted at the unit in Ghazi Pur Dasti in Muzaffargarh district.

       It was found that expired biscuits were being ground into powder and used in making products, besides expired food colours and cocoa powder. The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) promptly disposed of the expired items.

       During the raid, 10,000 kilograms of expired biscuits, 90kg powder and 40 liters of other expired ingredients were destroyed. The factory owner was slapped with Rs300,000 fine.

       PFA Director General Muhammad Asim Javed urged the public to always choose safe and quality food products. He further stated that there is no place for the fraudulent food mafia in the province.

       TWO KILLED: A young girl and her father were allegedly shot dead over a land disputeat Basti Jamna Chandiain Gaddai police station limits.

       According to police, Jameel, son of Rasheed, and Shafqat, son of Ismail, both residents of Basti Chandia, opened fire on Khalil and his daughter Rabia, over a dispute over a 12-marla piece of land. Both died on the spot.

       On receiving an emergency call about the double murder, the police reached the spot and collected evidence.

       DG Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Vilayat also visited the crime scene and directedthe investigation team to thoroughly examine all aspects of the case.
