KOTA KINABALU: A man who was under the influence of drugs crashed his car into the Ranau district police station on Sunday.

       In the 9.17am incident, the 33-year-old man drove straight into a signboard in front of the police station guardhouse.

       Ranau OCPD Deputy Supt Simiun Lomudin said the man, who was with his wife, then drove towards the lobby of the police station.

       “The man got out of the car, grabbed a trash can and started hitting the lobby glass door and breaking it.

       “Police arrested the couple and took them for a drug test. The man tested positive for drugs and we believe he acted violently under the influence of the substance,” he said.

       No one was injured in the incident.
