NEW Sky true crime series, The Angel Of Vengeance, will cover the brutal killings carried out by Christopher, now Crystal, Hunnisett.

But who is she? Here's all you need to know...

Christopher Hunnisett, from Hastings, East Sussex, is a transgender woman who is currently in jail for murder.

She began identifying as a woman while serving her sentence and changed her name to Crystal.

While behind bars the former altar boy castrated herself and mutilated her genitals in a botched DIY surgery.

How many people did they kill?

Crystal had been found guilty of murdering two men - but has had one conviction quashed.

In 2001, Hunnisett, 17, killed 81-year-old Reverend Ronald Glazebrook while lodging with him in St Leonards on Sea, in East Sussex.

After the murder Hunnisett recruited a friend to help tear apart the body.

Glazebrook's severed head and limbs were found with a saw in a sports bag on a traffic island in Hastings.

A couple of days later his torso was found near Eastbourne.

Hunnisett was convicted of murder and given an indefinite prison term with a minimum of eleven years.

However the conviction was quashed eight years into the sentence.

Hunnisett punched the Reverend after being touched by him in the bath - and found him dead the next day, the court heard.

Just four months after being released from prison, Hunnisett had sex with 57-year-old grocery store clerk Peter Bick.

The 28-year-old then attacked Bick, hit him repeatedly on the head with a hammer and strangled him with a shoelace.

Hunnisett claimed the 2011 killing was part of a mission to rid the world of paedophiles.

However at the trial in 2012 the court heard there was “not a shred of evidence” that Bick was a paedophile.

Hunnisett denied murder on the grounds of loss of control and diminished responsibility but was convicted and jailed for life with a minimum 18-year sentence.

In October 2015 she began identifying as a woman.

She claimed that her rights were being violated by prison staff who had been keeping her isolated from other lags for her own safety.

She told the High Court that she had been mistreated by staff who were showing contempt towards transgender prisoners - and claimed it was a violation of her human rights.

       Her claim was rejected.

When will Crystal Hunnisett be released?

In March 2021 Crystal again argued for an appeal of her murder conviction.

She claimed that a psychotic illness had caused her to believe Bick was a paedophile.

However three judges found “no proper basis to admit the fresh evidence".

She will now remain in prison for the remainder of her sentence - with an earliest release of 2030.
