SHAMELESS cops who charged a British woman with making up a rape claim have refused to apologise after she was cleared.

       The woman, 21, went from victim to accused after police coerced a “confession” from her.

       Her family want police in Cyprus, where she claims she was gang raped, to reopen the case.

       Acting superintendent Christos Andreou, said: “We are looking to see if mistakes and omissions were made in the initial part of the investigation.”

       When asked if she deserved an apology for her treatment, Mr Andreou, told The Sun: “I can’t answer that question at the moment.

       “We need to go through the 100 odd pages of the court’s ruling and then we will decide.”
