ALOR SETAR: Two babies and their mothers escaped death after the ambulance they were in was involved in an accident with a car at Kulim Hi-Tech Park here.

       Kedah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said three Health Ministry personnel were also lightly injured in the incident.

       “A distress call was received at 10.53am informing us about the incident,” he said yesterday.

       Mohamadul said six firefighters from Kulim Hi-Tech fire station arrived at the scene shortly to assist the victims in the incident.

       He said the ambulance from Padang Kulim health clinic and the car had collided at a junction.

       “The babies were unhurt while their mothers and the Health Ministry team in the ambulance had minor injuries.

       “The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, was also slightly injured,” Mohamadul said.

       “They were all sent to Kulim Hospital for observation and treatment,” he added.
