A 13-year-old boy was injured in an early Sunday morning shooting in South Chicago, according to Chicago police.

       Police said the boy was in the passenger side of a vehicle when an occupant in a gold Kia SUV fired shots at about 12:40 a.m. in the 8700 block of South Marquette Avenue.

       The victim was driven to Trinity Hospital and was transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

       No suspects are in custody, and police said they are investigating the shooting.
