SIBU: A 46-year-old lorry driver died after his vehicle collided with another lorry at Mile 13 Jalan Sibu-Bintulu.

       Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the victim was travelling from Stapang to Sibu when the crash occurred at 3.05pm on Wednesday (Sept 29).

       "Police investigation revealed that the 29-year-old driver of the other lorry had lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with the victim's lorry," he said.

       The victim, Kong Sii Cheng, of Jalan Sawi, succumbed to a serious head injury, he added.

       The other driver sustained a broken right hip and is being warded at Hospital Sibu.

       "No arrest has been made yet," ACP Stanley said.

       The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by driving recklessly.
