Sam Carling took a swipe at Reform UK MPs after he was sworn in (Image: BBC Breakfast)
The youngest Member of Parliament has taken a swipe at Reform UK MPs Richard Tice and Lee Anderson in a savage post shared on social media.
Sam Carling, the 22-year-old Labour MP for North West Cambridgeshire, was officially sworn in last week and posted a video of the process to X.
Behind him stand a queue of MPs waiting to complete the process, with Reform UK's Tice and Anderson among them, chattering in the background.
Appearing to make fun of the Reform MPs, Carling wrote "don't mind those guys behind me" followed by the eye rolling emoji. The caption read: "Yesterday I was officially sworn in as North West Cambridgeshire's first ever Labour MP.
"I could not be prouder to represent this constituency, and am looking forward to getting on with delivering what I and the Labour Party promised! Don't mind those guys behind me [eye rolling emoji]."

Despite the apparent rude swipe at his fellow MPs, Mr Carling only won his seat by a razor-thin majority of 39 votes over his Tory rival, while Mr Tice and Mr Anderson secured much larger majorities in their respective seats of Great Yarmouth and Ashfield.

Carling, born in 2002, is now the "baby of the House" - a nickname given to the youngest member of the House of Commons - but he doesn't want his age to be the defining thing about him.
He told the BBC: "I want us to get away from this strange mindset towards younger people’s age. As far as I’m concerned we’re just the same as anyone else. I just want to get on with the job."
"I would argue we can make significant changes and offer a better alternative, and hopefully engage more young people in politics."
Carling has been a councillor in Cambridge and said he got into politics after seeing things in his rural town decline and made the connection with "decisions made in Westminster".
He said: "I saw a lot of things getting worse around me. I was concerned about shops closing on local high streets that used to be a thriving hub and are basically now a wasteland. And the sixth form closed, but I didn't make the connection to politics until later."

He's already faced criticisms from people who think he's not experienced to be an MP as was grilled by BBC Breakfast presenter Roger Johnson on the matter.
But Carling responded: "Well, I have a lot of experience that older members of Parliament won't. I've been renting in secure housing in the private sector for quite a while now and that's an issue facing not just young people but people all across the age spectrum.
"And it's something I intend to do a lot of work on now that I'm in Parliament. I always get a bit frustrated when people mention life experience because no one has yet been able to explain to me why being older makes you better at the job."
