A woman allegedly stabbed a CTA worker in the neck after the man accidentally sprayed her with water, according to Chicago police.

The man, 49, had been working in the Loop, washing the platform at the State/ Lake “L” station, 188 N. State St., about 10:45 p.m., according to a media notification from Chicago police.

He accidentally sprayed water on a woman, who became enraged, officials said. She went up to the employee and stabbed him in the neck with a knife, police said.

The 49-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

Officers were called to the station and arrested the woman. Charges were pending early Thursday.
